News from product management

A new app release has been available in the Apple, Google and Huawei stores since the 26.02.2025. The following functions have changed:
  • Alarm tone for ad hoc messages: If a message is sent via the crisis/emergency team page of the emergency app, it is now possible to send this message with or without an alarm tone. The "Alarm tone" option can be selected or deselected before each message is sent. This means that the ad hoc message dispatch on the crisis/emergency team page now follows the same logic as when sending messages via the message centre, where the alarm tone can already be (de)activated before each dispatch.

  • New settings page with self-test function: The new "Settings" menu item is now available in the emergency app menu. This menu item lists your own devices registered for the emergency app. When selecting a device, it is possible to send yourself a test message via push to check the correct settings of this device. App users can also deactivate the acoustic alarm sound for the smartphone on this page.

  • Backwards compatibility update: With the app release, our smartphone apps are now available from Android 8.0. Older versions are no longer supported. This adjustment ensures greater security and better performance, as older Android versions no longer receive security updates from Google and the device manufacturers and therefore harbour potential risks. In addition, the new minimum requirement enables more stable app performance and ensures compatible technical standards. This change affects less than 0.05% of our users. If one of your devices is no longer supported, we recommend upgrading to a newer version so that you can continue to make optimum use of all functions.

  • New online guide: The guide for admins and app users has been completely revised and is now available via the admin web. You will now find intuitive navigation, updated step-by-step instructions and helpful tips on how to optimise the use of the app and the administration portal. New features and updates will be added to this online guide on an ongoing basis so that you are always up to date.

We look forward to your feedback!
